Jill-Hickerson Bowman needs our help!
As some of you are aware, Jill is currently on a waiting list to receive a new liver. Leading up to the transplant, Jill is raising money to cover the out of pocket expenses associated with this type of surgery. You can find out more here:
http://www.transplantfund.org/Restricted/patient-detail.cfm?pat_id=2508
This is from Jill:
"Any-who, the most expensive part will be after the transplant as the anti-rejection drugs aren't fully covered by insurance companies. Doesn't make to much sense to me , why have a transplant if you cant afford the drugs afterward, which you have to take for the rest of your life, insurance companies...The need before is also very important as I have to make trips to San Antonio, so they help with gas if the money is in there to help. Luckily my husband has good insurance through Coca Cola. I also worked there for 5 years until this happened, now I am Social Security.
"The only thing I can really think of is if someone donates right on the Internet site the minimum is 25.00 (that what the fund does on everyone listed) but if someone just wants to make a 5, 10 15 or 20 dollar donation then just mail it to the address on the form and note in the memo section on their check "In Honor of Jill Hickerson-Bowman". Also if they do it on-line they just type Hickerson-Bowman in the yellow space to pull up MY Story."
(Edit: Corrected the spelling of Jill's name...)
